Headed up to Apple River in WI in about 2hrs. Should be pretty majestic (if everyone stays in a good mood). I'm driving, so that'll be a blasty blast. It also means I have supreme control of the music selection (thank god!). We're taking my dad's VUE so it already has the benefit of being all muddy and shit, plus...sun roof. Win.

Hope the weather holds. I'll be back sometime late Sunday afternoon, probs. (I have to wait ALL weekend to see the last two episodes of Children of Earth - argh! And from all the squeeing above spoiler cuts, Day Four was phenomenal. Damnit.)

Stay awesome flist.

Damnit, flist! I'm pretty much going to have to retard my livejournal usage this week, because really ANY thing that pops up on my torchwood comms is a spoiler for me.  Even if it's not an icon of major plot development...I DON'T EVEN WANNA SEE HOW GWEN IS WEARING HER HAIR, MKAY?

Just...stop it! Cut that shit.  I don't wanna see quote icons, squee's, or preview caps of tomorrow's ep. JUST STOP IT.

It wouldn't be such a big deal if i wasn't suddenly all over the Pinto comm (like white on rice).  I'm going to have circumvent my flist by going through the 'manage friends' and it's just suddenly become a Big Deal.

So this is me. Chilling ay Christine's apt - drinking a Mike's and watching West Wing. Because I'm not old enough for the bars. Lames. Christine said they weren't carding at the first one but I don't want the hassle, etc. It's just stupid that I can't go and celebrate the entirety of her birthday.

Someone around to keep me company?

hot

location: kitchen floor
mood: hot
listening to: burn notice

It's so hot I might die.  I just spent a good two hours laying outside reading and dozing, and I'm liable to be lobster-red by late tonight.  Still, it's lifted my spirits considerably after this drag-along week.  Since work is closed tomorrow for the hols, I needed to fit all 40 hours in to four days.  So I've been working 5:00am-3:00 most days, with a bit of out-of-lab time clocked for typing up protocols and organizing notes for Angie.

Jesus.

She's the new archiver, full-time, so I'm essentially training her to take over my job (and isn't that a lovely feeling).  But she's that sort of bug-eyed, old-lady awkward?  And I absolutely hate to have people hovering over me when i'm working/writing/reading/etc. so this week has been redonkulously stressful on me.  Plus, I'm having to constantly repeat and demonstrate techniques that I've been doing at lightening speed for four years now.  Needless to say, I am definitely ready for a three-day weekend.

The plan for the weekend is as follows:

Tonight - Public Enemies at 7, chilaxin afterwards
Friday - beach around lunchtime with the crew
Saturday - Christine's birthday party in Ames
Sunday - Richard III
